Exhibition Artist Statement:
“Spare Your Blushes is a photographic entanglement of desires that comes from my experiences as a queer woman and defines eroticism as surrealist praxis. Alternative photographic processes speak to the history of photographic image-making and directly engage the importance of touch both physically and conceptually. This project explores the transgressive qualities of emerging queer desire through the female gaze, representing intimacy in a society that finds sex both revolting and irresistible.”
